I was sent to shoot the amazing story of this family on the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. Both grandmother and granddaughter survived and eventually made it out of the hurricane-ravaged New Orleans, but they had very different experiences. Even five years later, emotions of gratitude and anger were running high.

That night it was one picture of current Governor Mark Sanford and his ex-wife, Jenny, greeting each other with a quick kiss that caused quite a buzz.

For the first time, I am showing my work in a gallery setting. It is a dual show with artist Jackie Shapiro Rosen. As most of you who visit my website know, I traveled to Germany in search of my family history. I will be showing 14 of those photographs.

If you have the opportunity, please come to the opening reception this Friday at Village Studios & Gallery in the Pendleton Street Arts District from 6-9 pm. And, if you can’t make the reception, the show will be on display through the end of April.

Thanks for all your support!!
